Datagrunt 4.6.4: Internal Groundwork for Datagrunt 5.0
October 30, 2026by Martin Graham
Datagrunt 4.6.4 has no user-facing changes, and there is nothing you need to do.
Every public API behaves exactly as in 4.6.3, including PDFReader and PDFWriter. If you are upgrading from 4.6.2 or earlier, the change that matters is in 4.6.3: DuckDB-engine CSV reads and writes no longer crash under DuckDB 2.0.
What’s Inside
This release ships the first internal building blocks of Datagrunt 5.0’s new PDF extraction stack: the typed document and element model it will produce.
That code is not part of Datagrunt’s public API:
- It is not exported from
datagrunt, and nothing in 4.x uses it. - It may change or move without notice before 5.0.
- It is not documented yet, and you should not depend on it.
Datagrunt 5.0 will be a major release with its own migration guide. Until then, the v4 PDF API remains the supported one.
